PGTI is actively searching for Electrical Testing Field Service Technicians in or willing to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee area. Self-motivated, solution oriented, entrepreneurial minded individuals that are also capable of working in a team are needed to assist our company with continued expansion.

Prospective technicians will be responsible for:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings. Compare drawings to as built installation and check for errors and problems.
  • Supporting clients and troubleshooting problems.
  • Travel to jobsites as needed for installations, testing and training clients.
  • Communicate and report problems to management and prepare documentation as required.
  • Testing of electrical controls, power system components, and generator systems.

Prospective technicians will be evaluated/benefited by the following:

  • NETA or NICET Certification.
  • A formal education in power systems and electronics.
  • Experience in the electrical testing field.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) skills. Lead technicians will be involved in ongoing customer interaction.
  • Computer literacy/proficiency.

General testing knowledge of (Specific is better):

  • Generator and utility systems.
  • Solid state protective relaying (SEL, Multilin Relays, etc.).
  • Transmission and distribution transformers.
  • Power circuit breakers (OCB, VCB, SF6 Filled).
  • Controls to include circuit breaker operation, current and potential transformers, and protective relay interaction.
  • Demonstrable ability to read and interpret schematics, plans and drawings.

Intimate understanding of some or all of the following test equipment:

  • Insulation Resistance Tester
  • Transformer Turns Ratio Tester
  • Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeter (DLRO)Capacitance and Dissipation Factor (aka Doble Test)
  • Thermographic cameras
  • Relay Test Sets (Omicron or other Computer Based Test Sets)
  • High Current and Secondary Injection Test Sets
